I used to feel like I was constantly buying groceries… and somehow STILL had nothing to make for dinner. 😂

So I’m trying something different.

Meal plan first → grocery list → one weekly shop → actually use what I bought.

This week, I spent $169.94 on groceries for my family of 3 and already have our meals planned for the week.

My bigger goal? Save $850/month on groceries. 👀

Not by making our meals boring or cutting everything we love—but by being intentional about what we buy and eliminating the food waste + impulse spending that adds up.

One grocery trip at a time. 🛒

I’m not trying to become a more productive mom.

I’m trying to make homemaking feel LESS overwhelming. 🤍

With another baby coming, I realized I couldn’t keep relying on my brain to remember every single thing that needed to happen in our home.

The cleaning.
The laundry.
The groceries.
The appointments.
The errands.
The home projects.
The meals.
The million tiny things that somehow always feel urgent. 😂

So I stopped trying to do everything every day and started creating a system around my week instead.

I gave different responsibilities their own “bucket” day, and I use my calendar to hold everything else that doesn’t happen weekly.

And the biggest shift?

I stopped measuring a successful day by how much I got done.

I just ask:

👉🏼 What actually matters TODAY?

Because I don’t need a spotless house.
I don’t need to check every box.
And I definitely don’t need to feel like I’m failing because something didn’t get done.

I need a system that helps me know what can wait.

Especially because the newborn bubble is coming. 🥹🤍

This is the homemaking philosophy behind my CHO system:

You don’t need to do more. You need a system that tells you what matters today.

We love a little pre pre-school room! We don’t know what we will be doing with school yet since she’s still so little but we do love getting to teach her everyday! And that starts here in this flex space. We love everything about it! It’s been the perfect space for playing and learning.

We have STEM toys, learning posters & a rug, tons of art supplies, a play kitchen, books, more pretend play & our craft table (my pregnant self already broke one of her 2 stools lol).

I used to think keeping a house running meant constantly remembering a million little things.

Laundry. Groceries. Cleaning. Bills. Appointments. Planning. Somehow remembering what we’re out of 😂

But I’ve realized I don’t need to remember everything — I need a system for everything.

These are the 5 household buckets I built first:

🧺 Laundry
🍝 Meals + groceries
🧽 Cleaning
💰 Budget
📅 Weekly planning

Now instead of carrying 100 little tasks around in my head, I know exactly where they belong.

And this is just the beginning of my Chief Homemaking Officer system. 👀
