Photo by Mack H. Frost / I was coming back from a trip to Glacier National Park in October 2025. I had the time to travel through the northern part of Yellowstone NP. All the aspen, cottonwoods and willows were in fall color. I got this image from the deck of the bridge crossing the Lamar River in the Specimen Ridge area. The gully made a pleasing "S" curve and there was even a young crescent Moon in the upper left of the shot.

Photo by Mack H. Frost / A nice reflection shot of the Fall color from 2025 on the eastern edge of Swamp Lake along Wyoming Highway 296 near the Cathedral Cliffs and the K-Bar-Z guest ranch. This bay is usually protected from the high winds that can occur in this region during Autumn.

Birds are some of my favorite wildlife subjects. This rough legged hawk miraculously found a place to roost temporarily at the top of these fragile branches.
These birds generally appear in this northwest corner of Wyoming in the Winter and depart again when the weather warms in the Spring. They come in many different colors and this one was a beauty!

A couple of bighorn rams working things out along the North Fork Shoshone River canyon in northwest Wyoming. Sometimes you need to butt heads to get things done or you can simply bang your head against the wall.

Photo by Mack H. Frost / The full Moon of 12/29/2020 rising behind the "big" McCullough Peak in the badlands to the east of Cody, WY. This is actually a composite of two photos taken from the same location with the same camera and lens about ten minute apart. One photo was of the last direct sunlight of the day on the peak. The other was of the Moon rising after the sun had set. Some basic photo masking combined the two images to create a more interesting photo. As I've always said, "Pictures do not lie . . . but the photographer do!"
