🍁 From rough spalted maple to a finished vanity top.

This custom piece was milled to size, stabilized, and epoxy-filled to preserve the natural character of the wood while creating a durable surface built to last.

Every grain pattern, void, and spalting line tells a different story, making each project truly one of a kind.

A big thank you to Rose Forestry for supplying the lumber and helping connect this project from the start.

It’s been a while since I last posted as I’ve been in the shop working on this one. Starting with rough-sawn maple slabs and a stack of cherry, this custom farm table slowly came together through milling, glue-ups, joinery, shaping, and finishing.

The finished piece features a solid maple top with cherry breadboard ends, sitting on a handcrafted timber and steel base. Projects like this are a great reminder that beautiful furniture isn’t built in a day, it’s built one step at a time.
Thanks for following along with Mike’s Craftworx. More project photos and builds coming soon!

“Here’s a look at one of my latest custom river table builds from start to finish.

This project had a little bit of everything:
✔️ Live-edge slab prep
✔️ Epoxy river pour
✔️ Bowtie repair work
✔️ Endless sanding and polishing
✔️ Final assembly and finish work

The metallic blue epoxy paired with the spalting and natural grain ended up looking even better than I imagined when this build started.

It’s always satisfying seeing a pile of rough lumber turn into a finished piece of furniture that’ll last for years.

Thanks for following along and supporting Mike’s Craftworx!”

It feels good to be back in the shop.

Kicked things off with a special piece for my wife—my favorite I Love Lucy fan ❤️

This custom walnut bookshelf features live edges, rich natural grain, and a personal engraving to make it one of a kind. Pieces like this are why I love what I do—turning raw wood into something meaningful.

More builds coming soon… 🔨
