I’m really proud of this bath design, and the collaboration that made it happen. Mechanicals required a soffit at the top of the sink wall. We hadn’t planned for it. I suggested wrapping the soffit in cabinetry panels with door fronts that aligned with the drawers below and sent a drawing around, and the architect seconded. The builder quickly turned their quote around, so our client was presented with a full picture of the decision. Seamless communication and mutual respect behind the scenes = happy client. Isn’t that what we all want?

You’ll never guess my favorite thing in my new kitchen... and YES it was on my list of must-haves!

☀️ Welcome to summer!! This is the season of beach houses, coastal breezes, boats in the water, and sand under your feet. No one loves summer more than me (tropical island heritage + Jersey shore) and I appreciate a beach-themed cottage on the Cape. But kitschy beach décor is not for real life.

⚓️ When channeling beach vibes in your home, skip the seashells and anchors on every surface, paintings of sand dunes, and whitewashed wood signs saying “Life’s Better At The Beach”. Please. Just don’t.

🩵 This welcoming guest suite was part of a basement remodel, and we kept it feeling light and bright by weaving textures of seagrass, linen, and wood grain through a palette of teal blue and sand tones. The result a space so lovely your guests may never leave!

Sharing some work in progress shots to show the design process as an organic evolution.

Design projects usually don't follow the script you see on TV. In real life, people LIVE IN their homes, and it’s okay if they want a place to sit like NOW. I came into the project to decorate after the messy lift of painting, millwork, floor refinishing, and lighting. The only furniture on the first floor were the stools at the kitchen counter, and this family needed to start feeling at home.

The intention was to colorwash the living room in green hues, but we fell hard for the stunning coral-toned rug. The color palette draws from a bold painting full of reds and golds by an African artist friend, and I wanted to weave these bright colors throughout the house. Once the key pieces were in place, I pushed their style boundaries with the addition of glam mirrored cocktail tables and trio of Eva Sonaike patterned poufs. Their collection of African and Native American art is on display everywhere, as the thread connecting past to present and uplifting indigenous cultures in a house originally built by colonizers.

Working with this client has been an amazing collaboration, and the result is a home that tells their story, feels like sanctuary, and holds space for future memories to be made.

I'm honored to be featured by Benjamin Moore and the AAPI Design Alliance for AANHPI Heritage Month.

I selected Dark Purple 2073-10 because I've always been drawn to rich, saturated colors. Lately, I've been exploring ways to incorporate more materials, textiles, and design influences from Southeast Asia and the Global South into my work, and this color felt like a natural reflection of that journey.

Thank you to@benjaminmoore and the for celebrating the diverse voices and perspectives that continue to shape the design industry. 💜
