Wyatt has the last of his coveted green cap honey available at the Erie county metro parks today for their Earth Day Festival!

Come check out the bees at Osborn metro park from 11-3 today. After the event is over the observation will be donated back to the metro parks with new bees to stay permanently in the nature center for the remainder of the year!

Happy Earth Day 🌎💚

Today is a reminder to slow down, step outside, and appreciate the beauty all around us—from the air we breathe to the flowers in bloom.

Let’s not forget the tiny heroes of our planet… honeybees 🐝
These incredible pollinators are responsible for helping grow about 75% of the world’s crops and nearly 90% of wild plants. Without them, our food supply and our ecosystem would look very different.

This Earth Day, let’s do our part: plant something and protect the spaces bees call home. Every small action makes a difference.

Most of the honey you find in grocery stores is pasteurized. The high heat of pasteurization kills unwanted yeast, improves honey’s color and texture, removes any crystallization, and extends its shelf life. However, the process also destroys many of honey’s beneficial nutrients. The Tea Lab is committed to carrying raw local honey, because we consider it a superfood. Raw honey is considered low-to-moderate glycemic, typically ranging from 30–50 on the glycemic index (GI), which is lower than refined sugar’s score of roughly 65. While it can still spike blood sugar if consumed in high amounts, raw honey causes a slower rise in blood sugar due to its composition of natural sugars and enzymes, making it a better option than refined sweeteners.*
