Dave update:
1. Thank you ALL for your thoughts, prayers, cards, calls, meals, and generous donations. We are blessed beyond measure because of all of you!
2. David Drummond saw his Cardiothoracic surgeon yesterday. They are ready to operate as soon as possible. Minimum of quadruple bypass. Possibly more once they get in there and can see.
Good news: Dave is considered "low risk" now for the CABG(Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting aka:open heart surgery), even with his extremely low heart function. He has been able to eat right and control the diabetes as well as his blood pressure. He hasn't had anymore bloodwork yet to check everything else but they feel good about where he is and are ready to roll. They say the sooner the better.
Bad News: Dave is anxious and ready to have this over with. But no health insurance means big bucks. We are still fighting for Medicaid. He also applied for patient assistance through the hospital. But no answers. So now its on us.
Our choices:
A. Risk waiting for financial aid that may or may not come through and pray nothing bad happens in the meantime time.
B. We have to come up with a substantial amount of money up front (a percentage of the cost). And be billed for the rest (of course we can and will pay a small monthly amount for eternity ). The average cost for this particular surgery ranges from $150,000 up to $500,000 depending on severity and complications.

So currently our hands are tied. Dave has been out of work for a month and the docs anticipate him being out of work from now until 3 months AFTER surgery. The worst of recovery being the first 6 weeks. This is best case scenario if all goes well.

So that's where we are. Feeling a bit desperate and defeated but we are praying the Medicaid and or Financial Aid comes through for us and FAST. Please keep us in your prayers.
Its embarrassing and painful to ask but if anyone can spare even ONE dollar (it all adds up) please donate to our gofundme. If you are local his work, Deatley's Service Center has graciously set up a donation bucket up front and they welcome you to drop in.
