I don't have a waitlist and I'm not taking customs yet because I'm trying to keep it low-stress. Keep checking here for random draws from what I weave.

Who am I? How long have I been weaving? Since childhood. Really. I used a loom made from a cardboard box and made myself a gorgeous yellow coin purse. If my mom can find it, I'll post pics. How long have I really been weaving? I'v

e been grown-up weaving since February 2013. I took a local class at a friend's gentle demanding and fell in love with it. The whole time I was in the class, I was giddy with excitement about this new-to-me old art. I bought a used Schacht 36" 4-now-4-later standard floor loom and wove my first wrap within a few weeks. Why a babywearing weaver? I've been interested in babywearing (and woven wraps specifically) since two years before my first son was born. I love the bond that develops when a mother and child are close, I love textiles, I love colors and textures...everything that woven wraps encompasses. I was the crazy lady who owned more than ten wraps before I even was pregnant. Ask my husband. I even bought a stuffed bear to use for practice.

Want to know the story behind my name? Folklore tells of a woman who lives in a cave, deep in the earth. All day, she weaves in her cavern. Her only contact with the outside world is when a dove comes to bring her thread. Each day, the dove drops spools of golden thread down a tunnel to the woman. The Golden Thread is spun from the good deeds of the people of the earth. Golden Thread is what the woman weaves into a vast fabric. When the woman has woven enough fabric to cover the world, there will be no more sorrow. Caring for young children is a profound experience. At times it is challenging; at other times, the most rewarding thing on earth. At Golden Thread, I believe that the love, affection, time, attention, and sacrifice that goes into caring for our young are good deeds, as valuable as golden thread. I weave richness into our children's lives every day in every moment. To me, wrapping a child is symbolic of that love. Closeness. Hold your child close to you in a wrap and dream of a world full of joy.
