A quiet corner in this primary bath with a mix of modern and organic elements. For textural interest, we added a mesh material against a solid on the drapes and love the effect of the unexpected layer and how it frames the view of the lake and mountain beyond. The custom sheep’s wool rug by .maes.art brings softness against the chiseled travertine floor tile. In contrast, the vanity, countertops and mirror are clean-lined and modern bringing balance that lets you appreciate the diverse features. From project Lake Keowee🤎

Seeing the layers of texture come together in this powder room from our Lake Keowee project was one of my favorite parts of this residence. The walls are covered in a charcoal, micro cement wallpaper stacked on a grid for a modern & industrial touch. The vanity and shelf below were made from reclaimed wood and the vessel sink was hand chiseled from a block of travertine. The woven light above, made of frayed buri midribs, and the burlap window shade both brought an organic element and the textured, solid bronze door handle was an incredible Etsy find!
On a sidenote, black toilets were not something I ever expected to source, but we ended up using two in this home, and I don’t think any other color would have worked as well!

This Reserve at Lake Keowee project was a true a labor of love and by far the largest project I’ve taken on to-date. Starting in 2023, in the pre-construction and planning phase, it was an absolute dream to be a part of every step. From interior architectural details and cabinetry designs, the tile, stone, lime paint, specialty wallpapers, custom hardware and lighting, all the way through to fully furnishing, it was an incredible experience. As a designer, projects of this scale are an absolute dream, and with this clients unique vision for their forever home, which was Organic Modern🤎, I had the honor of taking stories from their travels and experiences and interpreting them into the home’s aesthetic. Excited to see it featured in the fall issue of Aspire Design & Home Magazine and to share more in the coming weeks!

LUXE Magazine!! I am beyond honored to be asked to be a part of the annual Influential Women in Design feature and still can’t believe it. This publication has been an incredible source of design and architectural inspiration for me over the years and I know it will continue to be. I truly couldn’t see myself doing anything other than interior design for my career and to be recognized on any level is such an incredible gift of encouragement and gives me the push to continue simply doing what I love. What an inspiring group of women business owners to be amongst, thank you Luxe🤍

The round window in this cozy cabana corner turned out to be one of my favorite features and it actually came about because of a mistake in the construction process. The original plan was to have this left end open so that the rest of the backyard could be viewed while eating, but the framers mistakenly added an extra foot of height (which we loved!) but it required extra structural support and, as a result, we had to include an end wall. We considered having a large rectangular opening in it, and even just a short knee wall accross, but ultimately landed on the round and have loved the unexpected architectural interest it added!
