My dad often said, "people prefer a good rumor to the truth." That is certainly true of the ceramic world.
When my husband, William Lyon, died, all kinds of folks spread the word that A Ceramic Shop had closed. Not true. Still going strong a year later.
Mayco announced they're only producing fired arts products...omg! The end of Doc Holliday Stains! AGAIN, NOT TRUE!
We've enjoyed a long, beneficial, collegial relationship with Mayco. Both Bill and I worked for the company for a time. But we're moving in different trajectories. Our parting is on excellent terms and well wishes.
While most of our products were produced by Mayco, not all were. We have other manufacturers that will be stepping in an taking over more of the production.
Relax, have another cup of coffee (or other drink of choice) and keep painting.
And when someone hits you with another doomsday story, just roll your eyes, grab your brush., and make beautiful memories.
