This spring has been a struggle for me as a business owner and a farmer. Of course the weather has been *wacky, but the farm also looks drastically different from where we were a year ago. We were harvesting buckets and buckets of blooms from a much fuller field, but now, there are hardly and blooms to cut, and the plants we do have are in their earlier stages.
While the tulips kept me BUSY for a couple of weeks, things drastically slowed down after they left. Iāve been seeding and cultivating and fertilizing, but Iāve very much missed the beauty of our spring season crops and bringing them to your tables š.
Iām in this pickle for a good reason though. The winter was a time to address our soil health, so we decided to cover crop rather than sew flowers. And while there is a vacancy of color in the garden now, things like this lil baby firefly venturing through the garden remind me why it was so important.
Itās always for them. For Earth. For all of us
