I picked some of my beautiful Queen Anne’s Lace from the garden today, and I just love how delicate and airy these blooms look in a vase! They’re such a charming little wildflower and a favorite for pollinators. 🐝

🌱 Queen Anne’s Lace vs. Poison Hemlock: Because they can look very similar, always be certain of your identification before harvesting. Queen Anne’s Lace has a hairy, green stem and often has a tiny dark purple/red flower in the center of the white flower cluster. Poison hemlock has a smooth, usually hairless stem with distinctive purple or reddish blotches. When in doubt, don’t pick it!

🌾 Want to save the seeds? Let the flower heads remain on the plant until they dry and turn brown. Cut the dried seed heads, place them in a paper bag, and allow them to finish drying. Gently shake or rub the heads to release the seeds, then store them somewhere cool and dry until it’s time to sow them.

A little bit of garden beauty today means more blooms for tomorrow. 🤍🌿

A couple of months ago I wrote a blog about herbs in the Bible to share in my garden club meeting 🌱

Herbs like mint, dill, and cumin are mentioned together. These were common kitchen herbs, part of daily life. Jesus referenced them when teaching about tithing—reminding people that while small details matter❤️
