Duane Kuiper came in today to pick up a poster of himself that was made, uuugh... a few years ago. There is a great story about this specific poster. At the time this poster was made he was with the Cleveland Indians, but shortly after, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants 💪. Apparently, after the trade he was told the posters were discounted to 50¢ in the Indians club store 😅. So, naturally, his brother went and bought them all! This is the last remaining copy which has now been framed as a gift for a very special family member. And because he is such an awesome dude, he brought me the new Jesse Hernandez Gigantes hawaiin shirt (in the right size!!!) 🧡🖤🌺.

(Obviously I was not mindful of the reflection in the glass while wearing a bright pink shirt 🥴)

Robert makes art on glass and mirrors (and cars). If you ever meet him, get him started on flake, colors, and layers and then sit back and witness the energy! We took his design and request to "work with the wood in his clients home, but also make it pop with the logo colors". It is so hard capturing frame pictures that have mirrors.

This is a very special piece. Rosaries like these were common for POW's to make during the Haulicaust and WWII by using bread, water, and any type of thread or string they could get. In this case, our client made the rosary while imprisoned in Poland in 1980. The mass imprisonment in Poland during the early 1980s was driven by the communist government's desperate attempt to suppress the surging Solidarity trade union movement and enforce martial law.

Our crew did an amazing job mounting this delicate object to retain its natural beauty while adhering to preservation framing. We used sewing needles inserted into the mat, between the beads, as standoffs. This allowed us to loop around the necklace's string and through the needles hole, without causing stress and pulling down on the delicate beads. There were no glues or adhesives used in the mounting process.
