The island. The herringbone backsplash. The floating shelves. 😍

Everything in this kitchen is earning its place. But that island countertop β€” the soft white with delicate veining β€” is the quiet anchor holding it all together.
Good stone doesn't always need to steal the show. Sometimes it just needs to make everything else look better.

Sage green cabinets and white quartz. A combination that just works every single time. 🌿

There's something about this pairing that feels fresh but timeless at the same time. The white Calacatta-style countertop keeps the space bright while the green does all the personality work.
If you've been thinking about going green with your cabinets β€” this is your sign.

Navy cabinets, warm wood tones, and white stone that ties it all together. 🀍

This is one of those kitchens where every material is doing its job. The countertop keeps things clean and bright while everything else brings the personality. Sometimes the stone doesn't need to be the loudest thing in the room β€” it just needs to be right.

What's the best material for a fireplace surround? We get asked this more than you'd think. πŸ”₯πŸͺ¨

A fireplace is usually the focal point of the whole room, so the material you choose really does matter β€” not just for looks, but for how it holds up over time. Here's how we break it down for clients.

Marble is the classic choice and honestly still the most popular one we see. The veining makes a fireplace look like a piece of art. It does need to be sealed periodically and it can show soot if not cleaned regularly, but for a gas or electric fireplace especially, it's hard to beat. Calacatta and Statuario are the two we get the most requests for right now.

Quartzite is our go-to when someone wants that marble look but needs something tougher. It's harder, more heat resistant, and handles the environment around a fireplace really well. It's been growing fast in popularity and we completely understand why.
Granite is the workhorse of the group. Extremely heat resistant, nearly indestructible, and comes in so many colors and finishes. If you have a wood-burning fireplace that sees serious use, granite is one of the safest bets you can make.

One thing worth knowing β€” we don't recommend standard engineered quartz for fireplace surrounds. The resin in quartz can be sensitive to prolonged heat exposure, so for fireplaces we always steer people toward natural stone instead.

Come see the slabs in person and we'll help you find the one that fits your space.

What's the most durable countertop material? Here's our honest breakdown. πŸͺ¨

This comes up constantly, and the answer really depends on what "durable" means to you. So let's break it down the way we'd explain it to a friend.

If you want zero maintenance and something that just handles everything β€” quartz is your best bet. It's engineered, non-porous, never needs sealing, and resists stains and scratches really well. The one trade-off is heat. Always use a trivet, because quartz doesn't love a hot pan sitting directly on it.
If you want natural stone with serious durability, quartzite is the one we can't stop talking about right now. It's harder than granite, looks stunning, and handles heat better than quartz. It does need sealing every so often, but honestly it's low effort for what you get.

Granite is still a workhorse. Heat resistant, incredibly tough, and each slab is completely unique. It needs periodic sealing but it's one of the most proven materials out there for a busy kitchen.
And then there's marble β€” beautiful but softer than the rest. It can etch and scratch more easily, which doesn't mean you can't use it, it just means it's better suited for someone who cooks mindfully and likes caring for a beautiful surface.

The honest truth is there's no single "best" β€” there's just the best one for how you actually live and cook. That's what we help people figure out every day.

Can you use marble in the kitchen? Here's our honest answer. 🀍

We get asked this probably every single week. And the truth is β€” yes, you absolutely can. But there are a few things worth knowing before you commit.

The reason people fall in love with marble is obvious the second you see it in person. The veining, the depth, the way it catches light β€” no engineered stone comes close. Every slab is completely unique, it stays naturally cool (which bakers especially love), and when it's well cared for it adds real value to your home.

Now the honest part. Marble is softer and more porous than granite or quartz. Acidic things like lemon juice, wine, and vinegar can etch the surface if they sit too long. It needs to be sealed every 6 to 12 months. And you'll want to use a cutting board β€” always.

Does that mean you shouldn't use it? Not at all. It just means marble rewards people who like caring for beautiful things. If your kitchen is more of a high-traffic, spill-and-forget situation, quartzite or quartz might actually make you happier long term.

Either way, we'll help you figure out what's right for your home and how you actually cook. That's kind of the whole point of what we do.

Nature painted this one. We just cut it. 🌿

This quartzite slab is wild in the best way β€” sweeping grey, green, and rust veining that looks like a landscape from above. Fresh install day and it's already the best thing in the room.
New countertops. Same cabinets. Completely transformed.

This one has us speechless. 🀍

Dramatic marble with sweeping green, grey, and gold veining across a waterfall island. Full slab backsplash behind the range. Natural oak island base, grey perimeter cabinets, brass globe pendants β€” every single element in this kitchen is working together perfectly.

This is what happens when a homeowner goes all in. And we were honored to be the ones cutting the stone.

Dark, dramatic, and completely one of a kind. πŸ–€

Black marble with bold white veining β€” wrapped around a fireplace surround and across flanking built-in cabinet tops. This one is still under wraps (literally), but you can already see it's going to stop people in their tracks.

Bold stone choices take courage. We're here for it.

That veining though. 😍

This quartzite island slab is doing the heavy lifting β€” and it knows it. Warm cream tones, bold natural movement, and a live-edge-like flow across the entire surface. Paired with white cabinetry and a farmhouse sink, this kitchen remodel is going to be stunning when it's done.
