Life rarely moves in straight lines.
Bohemian Life Journey was inspired by the winding paths we all travel—the twists, turns, pauses, and unexpected directions that eventually shape who we become. When I began creating this 20” x 20” piece, I didn’t want rigid lines or perfect symmetry. I wanted movement… something that felt more like the natural rhythm of life.
Using cotton and h**p rope, I carefully wove each line by hand, letting the shapes curve and wander across the surface like a map of experiences. Some paths run close together, others drift apart, and a few circle back on themselves—just like the seasons of our lives.
The warm neutral tones of cream and natural brown were chosen intentionally. They feel grounded and earthy, reminding us that no matter how complicated life’s journey may feel, we are always connected to something steady beneath it all.
At the center sits a small copper medallion, detailed with a delicate floral design. To me, it represents those meaningful moments we carry with us—the lessons, memories, and connections that become the heart of our story. Even when the path feels confusing, there is always something beautiful at the center guiding us forward.
Framed with thick rope along the edges, the entire piece feels almost like a woven map of life itself.
Because when you step back and look at the whole picture, the winding path doesn’t feel chaotic anymore…
…it feels like a journey worth taking. 🌿
