My road to love went through change and destiny first. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, I worked in the financial industry. I felt unfilled; I wasn’t doing what I loved. There was something missing, and I knew that If I didn’t make a change, I would regret it. So, I decided to go back to school and pursue my passion. I earned a residential design diploma and got the opportunity t
o push my skills and creativity to the max with an apprenticeship to interior design yachts in Florida. What makes yacht design so exciting is that no two are alike. It’s still amazing to see what can be created. I like to think of them as my floating canvases. After two wonderful years it was the birth of my daughter and trying to juggle being a new mom, and a career woman that I realized; I would not be able to give both my all. I decided to take a step back from the yachting industry to be a full-time mom. In true designer fashion, my daughter’s nursery room was jaw dropping, and I was able to keep my husband happy by staying within budget. Anyone who saw her nursery and was expecting a child of their own asked me for: advice, tips and tricks, or to design their new nursery room. Life is funny that way sometimes you don’t know what you should be doing next until you’re doing it, got to love destiny. The nurseries and children’s rooms that I design meet a happy median that I was accustomed to from interior designing within the yachting industry. The spaces must have: character, style, uniqueness, and functionality; All without going over budget. I love designing on a budget it pushes my creative limits. I found a new way to express my love for design that didn’t take away from me being the mother I wanted to be. My daughter is the center of my inspiration and as she grows I want to find things to express this growth and help her find her own identity. This proved to be a problem in the beginning. My Daughter, Aidan Jolie has a name that is predetermined to be a boy’s name. Thus, I couldn’t find anything personalized for her in stores. So, I decided to make her room accessories myself. I quickly realized that these customized room accessories as well as nursery room and children’s room design could be offered to other mothers and families. As I started the process of transitioning my ideas and services into a new business, I thought about name choices. At first I tried to think of something catchy that everyone would gravitate to, but that wouldn’t be real. I wanted a name that represented the love and inspiration that I feel and is expressed in my work. There was only one choice. My daughter, Aidan Jolie. Founder
