We had a wonderful shop visit from Summer, the maker behind Waterloo Works this morning.☀️ She saw that we are road tripping to the Endless Mountains Fiber Festival and wanted to meet us while visiting family nearby! She is a vendor at the festival, and we want YOUR help playing shop curator. 🎨💫

When you’re touring the festival grounds, make sure to stop by the Waterloo Works booth, check out her handy fiber tools, and let us know what you'd like to see available at Rabbit Row this fall! 🛠️🧶

Scout’s Honor: From Pasture to Purl

Meet Scout’s Honor, a truly homegrown DK-weight yarn with deep roots right here in Corning, New York, connecting your handmade heirloom pieces directly to our regional fibershed. This exceptional 2-ply yarn is a celebration of regional agriculture, grown and spun entirely within the Empire State to bring you the very best of the slow fiber movement.

The story of this yarn begins just up the hill on a beautiful, small Corning farm tended by local shepherdess Kris Sayre. For many years, her green pasture was home to Kris’s beloved horses, especially her favorite, Scout. Today, that very same grass sustains her small, meticulously cared-for flock of fine-wool Cormo ewe and lambs: Winnie, Ginnie, Linnie and Tuck. Named in honor of the noble horse who watched over these fields, Scout’s Honor carries the spirit of the land and a deep legacy of love, care, and connection.

Crafted primarily from premium, Corning-raised Cormo fleece, Scout’s Honor delivers that legendary, cloud-like loft, bouncy elasticity, and next-to-skin softness you love. To ensure your sweaters, cozy shawls, and everyday accessories stand the test of time, we’ve blended in just a touch of regional Corriedale for added strength and durability.

Beautifully balanced and full of character, it offers fantastic stitch definition that makes cables pop and stockinette shine. Great choice for your Rhinebeck Sweaters for Good project!

Product Details:

🐑: Corning-raised Cormo with a touch of regional Corriedale. Cormo is a breed of sheep originating from Corriedale/Lincoln ewes and Merino rams in the 1960s. Cormo are now their own registered breed.

🏋🏼‍♀️: DK (2-ply) 100 grams

📏: 260 yards (237 meters)
📍: Grown and processed into yarn entirely in New York State (Clean Fleece and Battenkill Textile Mill)

The temperature will (eventually?) be rising, and our Summer KAL/CAL, puts the spotlight on the ultimate warm-weather fibers: Cotton and Linen! 🧶✨

If you’ve never knit or crocheted with these plant-based beauties, summer is the absolute perfect time to fall in 💕 with them to make either a CROCHETED or KNITTED drawstring cami.

We are recommending:
✅ Mojave, a cotton/linen blend from Kelbourne Woolens
✅ Willett, an organic cotton from Quince & Co.

🎁 BONUS: Purchase your project yarn from Rabbit Row and receive the pattern and pattern support for 🆓. Stop by to pick your color from our recent restocks of these yarns - dozens of colors to choose from, or use the links to purchase from our online shop.

🎬 🎥 Big Screen News!🌟
The new short film “Farm to Fashion” is making its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival next month, giving us our official "six degrees of separation" from the amazing Isabella Rossellini! Did you know she has a farm in NY and is making garments from her sheep’s wool?

I am so proud of my many friends and colleagues involved because the film spotlights the heartbeat of our regional fiber community—including several of Rabbit Row’s own trusted suppliers: Battenkill Fibers, CeCe's Wool Yarns and More, Clean Fleece NY, Cornwall Yarn Shop, and Orchard View Lincoln Longwools 🐑

Being part of the leadership at the Hudson Valley Textile Project means getting to champion our local, traceable supply chain every single day, standing on the shoulders of the amazing visionaries who came before me.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved! This is a massive win for local fiber. 🎉🧶

We are excited to announce that Farm To Fashion will make its World Premiere as an Official Selection of the Shorts: Fierce Fashion category .

Directed by and featuring , alongside the Baaahrilliant Animals, Farmers, Mills, and Artisans of NY State, including our very own and NEFX in partnership with + many of our HVTP members!

The film highlights the growing movement connecting farms, fiber, manufacturing, and design across New York State, and the people working to build a more connected future for fashion and textiles. Through our work on the ground and as a NYFIC consortium member, we are proud to be a part of bringing this vision to life.

Huge gratitude to of for making this film a reality.

Thanks to all HVTP members who participated.
