I had such a great time sharing the story behind TexMo BBQ on the Baseball and BBQ podcast! Thank you both for inviting me on, making me feel so welcome, and giving me the opportunity to talk about my journey into competition BBQ. I truly enjoyed our conversation and appreciate you letting me share a little bit of my story.

It's okay if you're not the loudest one in the room.

The Bayfront BBQ Competition was... entertaining. My Gateway drum had a mind of it's own, the pellet grill wanted attention too, and I spent the weekend chasing temperatures—which is not something I'm used to! Apparently my smokers wanted to see if I could multitask under pressure.

Despite it all, I managed:
🥩 17th Place Brisket
🐖 23rd Place Pork

I also had a couple coworkers cooking chicken and ribs for the first time. Let's just say... they learned that competition BBQ is a little tougher than it looks!

Every cook is another chance to learn, improve, and come back stronger. I'll make a few adjustments and be ready for the next one.

A huge congratulations to Grand Champion Carl Davis cast iron cookers on an outstanding cook! Congratulations as well on securing your 7th State Championship and earning an automatic invitation to the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue! What an incredible accomplishment. I'll proudly display the sticker you dropped off!

And congratulations to Reserve Grand Champion Gulf Coast Smoke on a fantastic finish! 👏🔥 I always enjoy watching your videos and really appreciate all the tips you share with the BBQ community. Maybe it's time I signed up for one of your classes!

Thank you Champions For Change Daniel Thornton for your call out for Spartan Infrastructure and for all your hard work!
