Joeseph Carey Merrick (5 August 1862 – 11 April 1890) was an English man known for his severe physical deformities. He was first exhibited at a freak show under the stage name "The Elephant Man", at his request, when he was about 22 years old. We have curated a set that consists of a copy of a framed photo of him when he was about 26 (1889), our best approximation of his autobiographical pamphlet that was sold alongside his exhibition and a scaled down resin skull from a sculpt based on a cast done of his skull after his passing.
