Most of us in the New Mexico art-market community have had the pleasure of meeting Anndria Cornish. She’s the redhead that is always early, and always ready with a smile. Maybe she has shared a snack with you at an all day festival; or maybe a helping hand during set-up or take-down; or maybe just an optimistic outlook during an especially slow afternoon.
Now Anndria needs your help. In May of this year, she was diagnosed with uterine and breast cancer. And while she has insurance, she still needs help paying certain out-of pocket medical expenses like co-pays for office visits and medication, as well as for daily expenses like rent, food, and utilities while she is out of work. Right now, she is in the early phases of diagnoses, so it is hard to say what treatment and recovery may look like, and how much help she might ultimately need.
Instead of using a more traditional crowd-funding platform like GoFundMe, we are setting up a website that will allow 100% of donations to go directly to Anndria. Of course the website will allow donations to go to her PayPal or Venmo accounts too. But the main attraction will be a place to shop for art that her fellow art-world friends have donated. Lauren Tobey of Meltdown studio, Jessica deGruyter of Found: in ABQ, and Josie Mohr of JMohr Studio have all agreed to donate so far, and we hope you will join the cause as well. With your art and following, we can all help our sweet friend in need.
If you are interested in donating and item to Anndria, please contact Lauren at Meltdown studio to arrange a drop-off plan (phone: 505 977 1129). Lauren is handling shipping/pick-up logistics. Jessica is adding items to the website, and requests a photo and short description of the item be sent to her email at [email protected]. She will upload photos to the site as they come in. Please feel free to have a look at the website at https://seychelle78.wixsite.com/aidforanndria .
Anndria is tough and determined. She will survive this with your help.
