Before a space is built, the intention is discovered...

An entryway isn’t just a transition from outside to in. It’s the first feeling your home gives you and the first feeling you give the people you’re welcoming inside. Design it with intention, and suddenly you don’t feel the need to apologize for your house when people come over. You want to open the door.

Open floor plans, design built around ambiance, and entertaining, all come together in a home designed to make gathering feel effortless. This project is a reminder that a beautiful home isn’t just about what you see in the room. It’s about what the space invites you to do, linger in the kitchen, stay for another glass, pull up another chair, and actually enjoy having people over.

If you’re thinking about what your own home could become, I’d love to hear what you’re envisioning.

When you know what’s ahead it makes it that much easier to decide...

Hiring a designer can feel like a big commitment when you don’t know what the process actually looks like. That’s why I wanted to pull back the curtain on the interior design journey, from the first conversation to the decisions, collaboration, and details that eventually become your home. The more you understand the process, the more confidently you can decide whether it’s the right fit for you and your project.

That’s why sometimes there isn’t a right answer when it comes to an open or closed floor plan. What works depends on the architecture, the people living there, and how they want to experience their space.

Open concept design has degrees, you can have one large, connected space and still create moments that feel intimate. The placement of furniture, lighting, materials, and even the way you orient a chair can create little pockets within an open room, places to gather, pause, talk, or simply be.

I’m just a designer who thinks about how every detail contributes to the bigger picture. There isn’t one detail that’s the star, everything has to work together to make the space feel like itself.

This home is living its second chapter.

And while the walls may have been familiar, the life happening inside them was changing. What came next was about understanding what this home could become for the people living there now.

There’s not a commitment problem, there’s that inner question... am I hiring the right designer? Committing to a designer is about much more than committing to a project. You’re trusting someone with the place you come home to, the way you live, and often a vision that you can’t completely put into words yet. You want someone who understands what you’re drawn to, but isn’t afraid to show you something you hadn’t considered. Someone whose perspective makes the investment feel worthwhile.

Lulu Designs is intentionally private and personal, allowing the work to begin with a conversation, not a formula.

I’ve been designing spaces for 24 years...

One thing I’ve learned is that ambitious clients don’t need more ideas thrown at them. They need someone who can take all the possibilities and know which ones are worth pursuing. That’s where the relationship between client and designer becomes so important. You bring your life, your ambition, your perspective. I bring mine.

If you’re ready to create a home that feels distinctly yours, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
