It takes a lot to understand the chemistry at play in a well-designed space. Most people know that they like what they see, but they can’t tell you why it makes them feel good, much less how it got there. Designers spend every day tuned into these questions - we hone our craft by testing theories, peering through every viewpoint, evaluating every angle. And the point of this process is to learn and expand, to land on the other side of a successful risk. Getting there may not always be neat or tidy, but it’s during this process when the magic happens. It’s the why and the how of a well designed space that you can’t articulate - but that you can feel.

We transformed this bathroom for our client as she was preparing to put her house on the market. We relocated the sinks, squeezed in a new window to avoid an existing electrical box, added shower skylights (always a good move), a frameless transom above the shower door, and a custom walnut cabinet. She may have had only a few weeks with it 🤷🏻‍♀️ but we’re hoping the new home owner is in love.

Wow, what a year! We are wrapping up this one with a familiar sense of gratitude for the cool jobs we have and the interesting people we get to work with on a daily basis.
It was the most gratifying experience working with these clients, who trusted us at every step with their kitchen and dining room remodel. There were some setbacks with the construction, and the process took longer than expected. But these amazing clients were troopers the whole way, their confidence in our shared vision for their new kitchen never wavered, and the end result is something physical and emotional - a beautiful kitchen for two teachers to share, and a new friendship between us and our clients for which we are deeply grateful.
It’s this kind of experience that makes us feel so at home in this profession - the soulful parts of the design process and the relationships that come about along the way. Thank you to everyone who showed up for us this year and who supported our business.

A cozy nook for kids sleepovers featuring the long awaited but classic Twilight Sleeper sofa from ! I’m sure everyone else is excited for lead times to go back to normal - we waited about six months for this one, but it certainly showed up for us! We were happy to take this kids bedroom from a blank slate lacking personality to a handsome and stylish hangout space for a young guy.

We spruced up this dining room for a young family while avoiding the higher costs of a major gut renovation. It just took finding a few pieces with personality, like this balsa pendant light, a table by our gem of a craftsman , a beautiful painting by and a particularly special botanical wallpaper. 🌱 We like the challenge of creating beautiful spaces on a budget.
