This is my favorite kind of before and after… the kind that starts with two people and a shared vision, and ends with a kitchen that holds an entire life. 🌿💕💫

For Deanne & Scott, this was a whole new chapter. With the kids grown and gone, they were ready for a kitchen made for the way they live now- hosting, lingering, entertaining the people they love. So we began with the boldest move of all… taking down the wall that once split the old dining room from a cramped, closed-off kitchen!! Swipe to see where we started and where we landed. 👉🏾

That one move changed everything. Suddenly there was room to breathe, room to gather, and all the prep and storage space a true entertaining kitchen deserves. Function and flow, finally working as hard as they do.

We leaned into the graceful aesthetic they already loved, with subtle traditional undertones… timeless, elevated, never fussy. The kind of space that feels like them.

As a WELL AP, I design for how a room makes you feel, not just how it photographs. More natural light, better flow, materials you can breathe easy around.

The full story, plus all the design details I geeked out on, is up on the blog now. ✨ Tap the link in bio to read Gracious Gathering: A Kitchen Built to Cook, Connect, and Live Beautifully.

Well, it happened… I joined the 40’s club over the weekend! 💕🌿🙌🏽

And before anything else… THANK YOU for all the kind and thoughtful wishes. The birthday love that poured in on June 27th really filled my heart. Every DM and happy birthday text… I read them ALL and I’m still smiling. 🤍🤗✨🫶🏽💕

I thought a milestone birthday might come with a crisis… instead it came with a whole lot of clarity and detachment to certain things in life. My thirties were a decade of planning and proving, and somewhere in there I learned the lessons I needed to slow down and actually enjoy the life I was creating.

It really comes back to four words I’ve shaped my world around… Live Beautifully, Live Well®. And super stoked to share… these four words were just officially accepted as a registered trademark.. See that tiny “R”?!

At 40, they don’t feel like a tagline anymore. They feel like an actual practice… like yoga! Living means saying yes while you’re here. Beautifully means intentional, never fussy. And living well, that one got specific these last few years… fueling my body with real, whole foods, choosing plants over processed, moving EVERY day… and finally kicking my portion distortion to the curb! It’s the same care I pour into the spaces I design, because beauty and wellness were never meant to live in separate rooms.

Here’s the moment that’s stuck with me. I was chatting with a lovely couple from the UK while in the Dominican Republic, and they said something I’ll never forget… “Live every day like you’re 90 years old”. Picture your 90-year-old self, and ask what she or he would tell you to do right NOW. Mine would say go to the beach, call your family, take that trip, lift some weights and stop waiting for someday!

So tell me… what would your 90-year-old self tell you to do right now? I’d REALLY, truly love to hear. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

This time last year we kicked off spring break with a quick layover in New York and an unforgettable stay at the inside of JFK airport… a total mid-century modern dream.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping straight into the golden age of air travel. The iconic terminal, designed by legendary architect Eero Saarinen, is filled with swooping curves, retro lounges, and design details that make any design lover swoon. 🤩🤩🤩

One of my favorite moments? Cocktails on the Connie🍸 a restored 1958 aircraft that’s been transformed into a cocktail bar on the tarmac. Truly one of the coolest airport experiences EVER.

✈️ Fun facts about the TWA Hotel ✈️

1️⃣ The hotel lives inside the original 1962 TWA Flight Center, a landmark of mid-century architecture.

2️⃣“Connie” is one of the only Constellation airplanes left in the world and the only one turned into a cocktail lounge.

3️⃣ The rooftop pool overlooks the runway, so you can literally sip cocktails while watching planes take off… it was a bit chilly when we were there, so didn’t get that experience!

Safe to say… design inspiration was everywhere.

Now we’re gearing up for this year’s big adventure… guaranteed to be filled with just as much design inspo, culture, and gorgeous scenery.

🌍 Any guesses where we’re headed this time⁉️

I’m a little obsessed with workstation sinks. So naturally, one of my stops at KBIS this year was checking out the latest in kitchen workstation sinks!!

If you’re planning a kitchen remodel, here’s the fun design insight: these sinks turn your typical sink area into a multi-tasking zone with built-in ledges for accessories like cutting boards, colanders, drying racks, and prep trays. Rad, right!? Your countertop suddenly works harder and your kitchen feels more organized. 😜

And while Ruvati does this beautifully, they’re definitely not the only ones in the game. I’ve specified workstation sinks from several manufacturers over the years, and they’ve become one of my favorite ways to add thoughtful functionality without sacrificing design.

Because the best kitchens aren’t just beautiful… they’re brilliantly PRACTICAL.

➡️ Would you use all the accessories or keep it minimal⁉️

Trade shows like last week’s KBIS in Orlando are equal parts exhilarating and exhausting… and ohhh so much fun!! ✨ Seeing the latest innovations, fresh trends, and beautifully crafted products always lights that creative spark… but wanna know what truly fuels me? The people!! 🤩🤩🤩

There’s something so special about reconnecting with brilliant designers, industry friends, and creative souls from all over the country. The catch up convos, the laughter, the big hug moments… that’s the real magic. I definitely should’ve pulled my camera out more, but here are a few fave snapshots with the faces that make this industry feel like home.✨ 🤍✨

Already counting down to the next big design event…

This photo is one of my faves, not only because I’m wearing my Filipiniana blouse, reflecting my Filipino heritage, but because it feels true to who I am… a bit bubbly with a big smile for my petite stance. I’ve always loved branding photoshoots for the way a thoughtful photographer can capture someone’s essence. I’ve been told my essence is one that is a force of joy, spreading good energy and reminding people that KINDNESS, connection, and humanity matter.

But this smile now carries some serious weight. We are living in undeniably heavy times, folks. And the belief that staying silent is more “professional” than speaking truth is deeply flawed. I’ve been inspired and emboldened by fellow designers who have bravely reminded us that you cannot separate your business from your values…How we show up in the world truly matters.

It sounds crazy, people I love in my life have handed me copies of their passports and proof of citizenship, just in case they’re kidnapped off the streets. These are legal citizens of this country, but the color of their skin and accents along with the recklessness happening have created real fear for their lives, and mine…I’m secretly terrified to go to KBIS.

Live Beautifully, Live Well is not just a brand. It is a belief system. It means choosing compassion over cruelty, dignity over dehumanization, courage over comfort, and community over fear. It means standing for humanity, even when it’s uncomfortable.

If you align with these values, I encourage you to SPEAK UP, share, and stand alongside those who feel vulnerable right now. Living beautifully and living well requires integrity, action, and an unwavering COMMITMENT TO HUMANITY!!!

With Love & Gratitude,
Megan
