One of the hazards of refinishing furniture is occasionally finding a place for it in our home. Usually, I’m pretty good about it. But then there’s this bench…

I really did intend to sell it—but now that I’ve seen a mock up of it in the room using Farmhouse Paint’s Ecru, I do believe it will be staying.

Surely I’m allowed to keep one every now and then…right? ❤️

What an incredible day yesterday! ❤️

The king bedroom set and the green wardrobe both SOLD — making it the biggest sales day I’ve ever had at House2Home.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who follows along, shares a post, stops by the booth, and chooses to bring one of my pieces home.

Days like this make all the sanding, painting, hauling, styling, and second-guessing worth it. 😂

This Ethan Allen dresser is getting a complete refresh for a customer who chose Blue Slate, a Tea Stain glaze, and a medium brown stained top.

The paint is on and the top has been sanded down and restained. Once the glaze and new hardware are in place, this traditional piece will have a completely refreshed look while still keeping its timeless character.

It’s at the stage where I already love it… and it isn’t even finished yet. 😂

A little SOLD update from House2Home! ❤️These items have all found new homes.

I love seeing such a mix of pieces sell — restored wood, painted furniture, vintage-inspired décor… there really is room for all of it in a home you love.

And now comes the fun part: filling those empty spaces with something new. 👀

Remember this one? 💚

When I brought this 1970s wardrobe home, I knew all that carving could either be its greatest asset…or its biggest problem. But, as is, the carving was hard to see. 😂

The goal wasn’t to make it more ornate. It was to quiet it down and let the piece speak for itself.

Dark Ivy from Farmhouse Paint gave all that detail new life without overwhelming it, while a fresh, light interior completely changed what happens when those doors open. And those original shallow drawers? Cleaned, repaired and finished with a botanical liner that gives just a little nod to the era this piece came from.

No heavy glaze.
No gilding.
No extra embellishment.

Turns out, she already had enough personality. 😂

At 78½” tall, this one is unapologetically a statement piece—and after getting her through the doors at the shop flat on her back on two dollies, she has officially arrived at House2Home Covington. 😂

RIO.

Can a bold furniture color really work year-round?

I think this one can. 💙💚

This lovely storage bench has made it to my project list, and I’m seriously considering painting it in Farmhouse Paint‘s Rio — a rich, deep blue-green that definitely isn’t playing it safe.

But before committing, I wanted to see how Rio would live through the seasons.

🌷 Spring: fresh greens, yellow and white flowers
☀️ Summer: ferns, natural textures and coastal touches
🍂 Fall: rust, pumpkin, warm browns and autumn foliage
❄️ Winter: evergreens, black accents and cozy neutrals

Rio is bold, but it isn’t seasonal. And that’s what I love about this color. Change what surrounds it, and the same color takes on an entirely different personality.

Neutrals may be easy, but sometimes a piece deserves to be the color in the room.

So…do I go for it?

The Jacobean buffet has been part of the Covington booth for more than a year — honestly, it had become almost as much a fixture as the walls. 😂

But it SOLD! 🎉

So I needed something substantial to take its place, and this lovely pine hutch popped up on Marketplace at exactly the right time - and right down the street!.

The pine may definitely get an update, but I love the shape, the glass, and the storage. Right now I’m leaning toward Farmhouse Paint’s Sage Shadow for the makeover, leaving the pine inside natural, with simple antique-brass cup pulls and k***s.

A very different look from where it’s starting. 💚

But for now, it’s beautiful as is and filling a much-needed merchandising function in Covington.

Infuse a little English history to your fall table. 🍂

This set of 9 vintage dinner plates was made by Brown & Ritchie Ltd. of England as part of their English Castles series. Each plate features Hever Castle — the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

Dating to approximately the 1920s–30s, the warm brown, cream and soft green palette makes them especially beautiful for fall entertaining.

I paired them with woven chargers, plaid napkins, amber glass and brass for a table that feels collected rather than decorated, ready for everything from Sunday supper to Thanksgiving dinner.
