Today I was admiring some Eryngium (that purpley silver thistle flower) and started thinking about how many different colors flowers come in. And then I remembered this set up we did for the last year and how beautiful the blue and purple were together.

You guys loved this installation so much, we wanted to make sure we showed off the rest of the wedding! I have no idea how many hydrangeas we ended up using for this, but it was definitely a LOT.

How on earth are we supposed to capture the grandeur of this installation in photographs and videos?! Hundreds of hydrangea lined the historic staircase at welcoming the wedding party and stunning guests.

Happy Derby Weekend! Congratulations Golden Tempo 🌹🌹🌹

We had so much fun doing this collaboration with and Ambiance for the YPO Rock Out Run for the Roses event! The 360° screens took our arrangements and installations right to Churchill Downs!

That horse you see in the middle of the room? He was life sized. We named him Mossy. Big shout out to for making him a reality!

Waterfalls of roses greeted guests and met them at the bar as well. Anyone wanna guess how many roses we used?

My social media accounts have received a lot of new attention after a recent event with my good friends over at Viva Bella Events! I'm so excited to meet all of these new followers and thought now might be a good time to reintroduce myself!

My name is Kristen, and I am the owner and lead designer here at Canary. I earned my BFA in Studio Art and an MFA in Art History. I have always been obsessed with flowers and using them to create the unexpected.

I have been working with florals for over 17 years and have had the absolute pleasure of serving the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area during that time.

I love turning florals into fine art by challenging myself to think outside of the box and designing the unexpected. It brings me so much joy knowing that my creative work leaves a lasting impression on the people who get to experience it.

I'm passionate about collaborating with other designers and event planners to take our clients' dreams and turn them into a reality.

This is where many couples underestimate the role of a floral designer versus a florist. A florist may be able to provide the exact stems you want and centerpieces that feel beautiful. But a floral designer will involve themselves far deeper in the process.

Florals affect timelines, floor plans, load-ins, weather contingencies, installation schedules, and strike logistics. A designer experienced in fine art events understands that beauty and ex*****on are inseparable.
