Day #5 𝟙𝟚 𝕕𝕒𝕪𝕤 𝕠𝕗 ℂ𝕙𝕣𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕤

Today our gift idea is our rectangle baskets from the upper eastern region of Africa.

The traditional skill of basket weaving has been handed down from generation to generation and provides employment to approximately 10,000 people, mostly women.

An average of two baskets can be woven by a woman who also has household chores, firewood collection, water collection, washing and the care of her children to tend to each day.

These stackable baskets stand upright easily and store easily if bought together.

I do have them priced separately, however.

They have leather handles and are very sturdy!
