Vintage Moroccan runner, BOUSBAA, C. 1980s
3’x7’
This Bousbaa rug is one of the most special pieces I’ve come across.
I had never seen one quite like it before.

Bousbaa rugs from this period are especially rare, and I’ve always loved their almost childlike figurative language; animals, floral forms, and human figures woven with so much instinct and soul.

Made from 100% natural wool and hand-dyed with natural dyes, this piece carries a presence that is incredibly hard to find.

A special piece from our space, chosen with love.

Air Ouaghrda 3’x 7’ , 1960s
This rug is one of those rare combinations handwoven by the Aït Ouaghrda tribe of Taznakht, where rural Amazigh tradition met the oriental influence of the Glaoui era.
The double medallion rises boldly on a dark ground, framed by saffron and red borders dyed from plants and roots. Every diamond, hook, and stepped motif carries meaning symbols of protection, resilience, and movement.
In the 19th–20th century, Taznakht weavers were asked to echo Turkish and Persian compositions, merging them with their Amazigh roots. The result was a mixed savoir-faire authentic, powerful, and deeply symbolic.
And although Thami El Glaoui passed in 1956, the artistic and commercial influence of his era lingered well into the 1960s. A rug like this one still carries that mark: the Amazigh spirit intertwined with oriental forms, resilience woven into refinement.
Born under the weight of authority, yet carrying the free Amazigh soul.
A dialogue between power and tradition and that tension is what makes it profoundly beautiful.
One of a kind available now.

What’s hidden in the back of this rug?

From the Middle Atlas, handwoven by the Beni Mguild tribe, this rug is a one-of-a-kind fusion of heritage and forward-looking design.
Its bold, rare turquoise blue detail almost unheard of in vintage Berber weaving gives it a modern, fresh energy while staying rooted in tradition.
Flip it over, and the reverse reveals a mesmerizing pixel like pattern a hidden artwork born from the Berber knot technique.
With 80% goat hair in its foundation, it’s strong, enduring, and crafted to be treasured for generations.
Far from ordinary, this piece adds an unexpected twist to any space — perfect for the new generation of interiors that blend cultural storytelling with modern aesthetics and transforms the feel of the room.
