Standing water in the shower? Before you call the plumber, try these simple steps to get things flowing again.

1. REMOVE the drain cover.
2. CLEAR away any hair and debris you can reach.
3. SNAKE the drain to break up and pull out the clog.
4. FLUSH with hot water and clean out any remaining buildup.

Before you buy another garden hose, check the little rubber washer inside the connection. 🔧

If it’s cracked, flattened, or missing, that could be your whole problem. Tightening it harder won’t bring that washer back to life.

Turn off the water, disconnect the hose, and take a look. Replace a worn washer with the correct size, make sure it sits flat, then reconnect and hand-tighten. Turn the water back on and check for leaks.

Sometimes the smallest part saves you the biggest aggravation.

A few simple fixes can help seal those gaps and make your home more comfortable:

1. CHECK for drafts around the top, sides and bottom of the door.
2. CLEAN the door frame so new materials stick properly.
3. ADD weatherstripping around the top and sides.
4. SEAL the gap underneath with a door sweep or threshold seal.
5. ENJOY a tighter seal and a more comfortable home.
