I looked out the window expecting to see another beautiful morning at anchor... and instead saw a giant waterspout forming right behind our sailboat. 🌪️⛵️

One minute the ocean was calm, the next we were watching one of the most incredible—and terrifying—weather events we've ever seen while living aboard.

Moments like this are a reminder that life at sea is full of adventure, unexpected surprises, and a healthy respect for the power of nature.

Raising boys is a wild experience 😅

On one hand, I want them to be brave. Adventurous. Confident enough to jump into life headfirst.

On the other hand... I’d really appreciate it if they stopped giving me mini heart attacks 😂

Every time they find something higher to jump from, faster to ride, or crazier to try, there’s a little voice in my head screaming, “DON’T DO IT!”

But watching them grow up fearless, curious, and willing to take on the world is pretty incredible too 💙

Even if my blood pressure disagrees.

How I start my mornings…wake up and jump straight into the ocean 🌊💙

Some mornings it still doesn’t feel real that this is our life.

Living on a sailboat has changed so many things, but my favorite might be how much time we spend actually experiencing life instead of just rushing through it.

No alarms. No traffic. No scrolling.

Just salty hair, clear water, and another day of adventure ahead.

This is exactly the kind of life we hoped we’d create when we sold everything and moved aboard our boat ⛵️

A few days at Powell Cay looked a little something like this ⛵️🌴

Beach days.
Snorkeling a sunken barge.
Wakeboarding.
Exploring every chance we got.

And because this is boat life... our dinghy steering cable decided it was done participating 😅

One minute you’re living in a postcard, the next you’re troubleshooting boat problems in the middle of paradise.
But honestly, that’s part of the adventure.

The best days usually include a little bit of beauty, a little bit of chaos, and a story you’ll laugh about later.

Powell Cay, you were pretty unforgettable 💙

If you’ve seen Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, you already know exactly what this reel reminds me of 😂🌴

People: “What do your boys do all day living on a sailboat?” ⛵️

Our boys:
Covered in sand.
Running barefoot.
Making questionable decisions.
Yelling unintelligibly.

Emerging from the beach looking like they just joined the Wachati tribe. 😅

Somewhere between boat kids and tiny feral island creatures, we’ve lost track.

Honestly, this is pretty much the childhood we hoped they’d have—wild, adventurous, messy, and outdoors as much as possible.

And yes, every time I watch them like this, the Ace Ventura scene immediately plays in my head 😂

Every time we think the Bahamas can’t get any prettier… we find a place like this 🤯🌊

Turquoise water so clear it barely looks real, powdery white sand, and the kind of beach that makes you stop and go… “how is this real life?”

This is exactly why we chose boat life 💙🏝️
