Nestled in Dallas’ historic Kessler Park Conservation District, this 1925 Craftsman bungalow celebrates its 100th year with a new chapter. For Studio Thomas James founder Philip Thomas Vanderford and his husband Chase DeVasier, the restoration was an opportunity to honor the home’s architectural heritage while introducing a distinctly contemporary point of view.
In the primary bath, richly textured walls, warm wood cabinetry, polished brass, and a striking checkerboard marble floor create a sophisticated interplay of pattern and materiality. A sculptural soaking tub, tailored window treatments, and thoughtfully placed artwork bring personality to the space, balancing traditional elegance with unexpected moments of modernity.
