A little vintage Christmas sweetness

My niece made these adorable little book sleeves (small books or kindles) for me from a rare vintage ice-skating fabric. Each has a white interior and ribbon closure, and I have just 3 available in the white.

I’m already thinking about all the beautiful fabrics we could use for these — different seasons, different little stories, and some very special vintage finds. So more are coming.❤️

For now, these three are $45 each + shipping..

When a sweet friend asks if you want some of her families old ornaments, the answer for me is always - YES. Thank you dear Jessica Jessica Pool for allowing me to bring these beauties to my Christmas decorations! She told me some were from her grandmas collection. You know my eyes gleamed brightly when she spoke those words. ❤️

You can just smell the essence of Christmas past in these pages.

Opening up the box from Elena, DB Owner, INFP just now has made my collector heart so full. It’s a Christmas book dream come true for me.

I rarely share my past, sometimes because it’s easier not to let the emotions leave my heart. But today, with this arrival, I want to share why I collect so many Christmas books.

When I was in first grade, my dad, a talented artist, drew Santa and the reindeer for my class’s bulletin board. Throughout the month of December, when I walked into my classroom I saw my dad’s talent and I was so proud.

It wasn’t until he passed, eight years ago, that I found myself buying every ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas books I found. And then I realized why I was doing it. With each book, my dad’s picture from when I was first grade washed over me. It brought me warmth during a time I felt lost. It brought me comfort with each page.

Thank you for letting me share a little piece of my private life. It felt good finally telling that story. Christmas has always been special to me, but the books are where my heart rests easiest.

I’m starting to feel the Halloween spirit, and I couldn’t resist these “Little Shop of Horrors” arrangements created by my friends The Seasonal Market in Plano.

I love both movies - the original with Vincent Price (I will admit, when I was young I was both fascinated and scared of this movie). And then the musical version in 1986 was an excellent upgrade to the original. I still find myself singing many songs from this sound tract as fall slowly creeps into our midst.

For me, August is the true beginning of fall. I know it doesn’t feel like it yet—it’s hot out! But school starts again, routines get back into motion, and soon, very soon, pumpkins will fill our yard.

I don’t want to skip past this Norcrest beauty for my picture. I have a few more of these pups, and I’m always looking to complete this set.

Enjoy your Sunday, sweet friends!

What better way to say good-bye to July, than to share a box of 1950s Christmas wrapping paper. I’m almost embarrassed to say how many of these boxes I own now. But I adore each one. I’m sure my daughters are seeing this and thinking, oh goodness, one day I’ll have to deal with all of Moms paper goods. 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you sweet Lisa Lisa Kindwall-Grossnickle for bringing more fun Christmas into my home. Each box has been a treasure!

There is a quiet wonder in holding a piece of the past. Spending a hot summer day surrounded by vintage Christmas cards makes the heat not feel so daunting.

Thank you sweet friend Lisa Lisa Kindwall-Grossnickle for allowing me to add these adorable cards to my world.

A view from my writing room. I bought the Molly Lego display and my nephew put it together for me (he’s much better at it than I am). My best friend, Sherry, made me the adorable Belle dish from one of my books, and then a classic pixie tea pot just to pull it all together. Happy Friday, dear friends!

I love all things Christmas - including records! I finally opened the box holding these fun tunes this morning and just had to share. Thank you my sweet friend Lisa Lisa Kindwall-Grossnickle you have helped me increase my vintage hoarding collection over the past two years! I don’t regret one purchase. 💕💕💕 Now, where do I tuck these away for a few months - thats my problem. 🤣
