A day out of the studio and into Fort Worth. Our team-building days let us step away from our usual routines, experience great design firsthand, and come back with a fresh perspective. This one took us through craftsmanship, architecture, art, and hospitality.
First things first ☕️, properly fueled, we were ready for a full day of looking, learning, and getting inspired.
First stop: holdfastfurniture. We’ve worked closely with their team on several custom pieces, so spending time in the workshop and seeing the making process up close was especially meaningful. It’s always a reminder of how much collaboration goes into turning an idea on paper into something beautifully made.
From proportion and joinery to finish, function, and material, there’s so much knowledge behind making something look effortless. Huge thanks to the Holdfast team for welcoming us in and sharing more of their process. We always love seeing the craft behind the pieces we create together.
Next stop: the Kimbell Art Museum. The afternoon let us experience both Louis Kahn’s original museum and the Renzo Piano Pavilion. Two very different architectural expressions, but both incredible examples of how material, proportion, and light shape how a space feels.

It’s the kind of detail you notice differently when you’re actually there.
Last stop: Bowie House, Auberge Collection. What struck us immediately was how little it felt like a conventional hotel. Instead, the spaces feel layered, collected, and residential, with art, furniture, and materials working together to create something warm and personal.
Throughout Bowie House, the art and interiors never feel like they’re competing for attention. Everything feels like part of the same story, from the materials and furnishings to the objects and artwork. It was such a good example of how a space can feel distinctive without ever feeling overdone.
By the end of the day, we’d moved from a furniture workshop to one of Fort Worth’s gr
