shol fish curry 🐟 (শোল মাছ ঝোল )😋

🐟 Ingredients

For 4 servings:
• Shol fish : 4 medium piece
. Onion: 1 medium
• oil: 4 tsp
• Cumin powder: ½ tsp
• Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
• Red chili powder: ½ tsp
• Coriander powder: ½ tsp
• Salt: to taste
• Water: about 2 cups

⸻ 💧 washing steps
1. Add salt and lime juice marinade the fish about 5-10min
Then wash them .(only if the fish was frozen for a long time.)

🔥 Preparation Steps

1.Marinate the Fish
• Wash and clean the fish pieces well.
• Rub them with salt and half of the turmeric powder.
• Let it rest for 10–15 minutes.

2. Fry the Fish
• Heat oil until it starts to smoke, then lower the heat.
• Fry the fish pieces lightly on both sides until golden brown.
• Remove and set aside.

3. Prepare the Jhol (Gravy)
• In the same oil, Add chopped onions and cook till soft.
• Add turmeric, red chili, cumin, and coriander powder. Stir well with a splash of water to avoid burning.
• When the spices release oil, add around 2 cups of water to make the light curry base.
4. Simmer and Finish
• Add the fried fish pieces
• Cover and cook for about 8–10 minutes on medium heat until the flavors combine.
• Adjust salt as needed.
5. Serve
• Serve hot with steamed rice.😄
