Here’s a quick fall homeowner tip that could save you from a surprisingly expensive repair down the road:

Take a walk around your house and pay close attention to the **north side**—especially your roof, window trim, siding, and other areas that stay shaded.

These areas tend to hold moisture longer, which means they’re often the first places you’ll notice **moss, mildew, soft wood, peeling paint, or deteriorating caulk.**

🔎 **A few things worth checking:**

• Moss or dark organic growth on shingles
• Cracked or missing caulk around windows and doors
• Soft, swollen, or deteriorating wood trim
• Siding that has shifted or pulled away
• Gutters overflowing or directing water against the house
• Water staining around windows, soffits, or fascia
