Next up in our “At Home with Knilans” series, we’re featuring another room in Jessi’s home, the Sunroom.
"This is my favorite spot in my home to read, have coffee, relax and enjoy the sunshine and farm views across the street. I knew when we bought this house that I wanted a pretty sunroom that was bright and maybe a little whimsical.
With help from the Knilans’ Designers, I started with the bird floral pillow fabric as my inspiration piece - I may be a little obsessed with birds 🐦. I picked a cream colored high performance fabric for my Temple Furniture sofa, which is much needed with two labs 🐶. I chose a navy blue faux leather for the tufted ottoman, so that it won’t fade in the bright sun - both fabrics have held up well for going on 8 years now!
My favorite furniture item in the room is the Spool Chair in a soft teal dot fabric 💙. The counter height table and stools have been around since I started at Knilans, almost 15 years now, and has been a great spot for homework, puzzles and extra seating in this room. The chair and ottoman in the corner came from my in-laws after many years of love in their own home, and I had it recovered in a navy window pane plaid for a cozy reading spot.
On the walls we have a beloved art project from my son Jacob from when he was younger, a beautiful state of Iowa made from my talented woodworker Brother-in-Law and my 3 little birds which make me think of my own little birds (not so little anymore sons…). I love spending time in this space, especially on a sunny day like today.”
