From Miry Clay Pottery Studio & Gallery From Miry Clay Pottery strives to create aesthetically pleasing and functional vessels that are balanced for a specific purpose.

All of the stoneware is microwave,oven, dishwasher, and food safe. Our handmade pottery is created on the potter's wheel or by using a slab table. From Miry Clay Pottery is a unique business that can create custom orders. Our business is located in a former bank building in downtown Dayton, Iowa. We have uncovered a limestone floor and
wainscoting original to the building that was built in 1916. W

hile you are here tour the old vaults, the pottery studio, and gallery. In addition to our pottery, we have added other
Iowa artists’ products including: hand-carved wood bowls, blown glass, hand-made soap, hand-made greeting cards, Jive for Five music, and wonderful photography.

💪🏼 This should last us a little while! Moving 2,000 lbs of clay into the studio was a good workout, and now we’ve got plenty of clay to make lots of pots. Thankfully, each individual box only weighs 50lbs. 😅

📣 The wait is over! The first batch of Marvelous Mugs for 2026 is ready. Tyler made more than 100 mugs, and no two are exactly alike. Thoughtful textures, hand-carved details, and unique glaze combinations add so much character.
