🍪 DeBary Cookie Wars is officially in the books! 🍪

What a fun day at the market City of DeBary with Specialty Pop-up Events! The Cottage Porch Co. entered our “Tastes Like Summer” Coastal Coconut Cookie into today’s Cookie Wars. 🌴🥥☀️ While we didn’t place, we had such a great time being part of the competition! Thank you, & Cheesecakechinos While, I love me some cookies, y'all took on a real feat today. I hope you had some milk with all those cookies! 🍪 🥛

It was so much fun seeing all of the cookie vendors out today. And even though technically we were competing against each other, that certainly wasn’t how it felt. Everyone was so friendly and supportive of one another, and the whole market had such a fun, festive atmosphere. ❤️

I only wish I’d had a chance to sneak over to the judges’ table and see all of the entries together — can you imagine that much cookie goodness in one place?! 🍪🍪🍪

And to everyone who came out to see us today — THANK YOU! With ALLLLL of those cookie samples being passed around, y’all still showed up, stopped by to say hi (we love that!), and picked up goodies from our table. We appreciate every single visit and every single purchase. 🥰

Today was also the last day for our Strawberry Cream Bread 🍓 as we start making a little room on the table for some new seasonal treats.

Because... fall flavors are coming! 🍎🍂🎃

We’re already brainstorming the fall menu, but we want to hear from YOU. What flavors or treats would you like to see on The Cottage Porch Co. table this fall? Pumpkin? Apple? Maple? Caramel? Pecan? Something we haven't thought of yet? Drop your ideas in the comments — you just might inspire something new!

🍪👑 COOKIE WARS IS COMING TO DeBARY! 👑🍪

The Cottage Porch Co. cookie collection has been growing lately… and you guys have been giving those cookies a whole lot of love! ❤️🍪

So naturally, there was only one thing left to do…

SEND ONE INTO BATTLE. ⚔️🍪😂

This Sunday (8/23), The Cottage Porch Co. is joining 30 fabulous, local cookie bakers in the Ultimate Cookie Showdown at the DeBary Farmers Market — and I am SO excited!

I’ll be entering ONE of our cookies into the competition for a chance at the COOKIE CROWN 👑🍪

Sooooo…

The cookies will be put to the test by a panel of judges featuring DeBary’s very own Cheesecake Chino! 👑

And while the judges have the tough job, YOU get the delicious one — come out and sample cookies from the contestants! With 30 bakers bringing their creations, there should be plenty of cookie goodness to go around. 🤤🍪

❤️🐄 THE LIST IS MOVING & THE HERD IS GROWING! 🐄❤️

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone who has already donated, purchased an item, shared my post, or helped spread the word. Every single bit of support has made a difference—and it has been so much fun watching squares on our Fill the Herd board get crossed off! 🥹❤️

Tomorrow is the big day! Room 7-216 is ready to open its doors and welcome a brand-new herd of 8th graders! 🐄📚

The room is ready, but our list is still growing, and we still have quite a few squares left on our bingo board that would help carry us through a wonderful school year.

These aren't just supplies to make our classroom cute—although clearly I have made a slight commitment to the cow theme. 😂🐄 They're things we'll use throughout the year as we read, write, strengthen language skills, grow as learners, and build leadership, communication, organization, and collaboration skills that will carry far beyond 8th grade.

There are items at all different price points—some squares are even under $10—so if you'd like to help, you can simply pick a square (or two! 😉) that works for you.

And if purchasing isn't in the cards, PLEASE share! ❤️ This part really does matter: two of the most recent gifts to our classroom came from people who found my list because someone else shared it. So hitting that little share button genuinely helps our herd reach people I could never reach on my own.

My goal isn't simply to fill a classroom with supplies. It's to create a place where my students have what they need to learn, grow, feel successful, take some chances, discover what they're capable of, and know that there are people rooting for them.

🍪📚 A little Cottage Porch life update…

If things have been a little quiet around here this week, I promise I haven’t disappeared! 😂 Teachers went back to work, which means I’ve traded flour-covered counters for classroom chaos for a few days.

This week and next are going to be a little hectic while I get my classroom ready and welcome a brand-new group of 8th graders. ❤️

Since so many of you have become more than customers and truly feel like part of our little Cottage Porch family, I’m going to shamelessly tuck my classroom wishlist right here. 😂📚✏️

And before anyone opens it and wonders why on earth there are so many COWS… 🐄😂 I went with a Chick-fil-A-inspired classroom theme this year, built around respect, kindness, service, and doing your best. So yes—the cow print is intentional. I haven't completely lost it. Yet. 😂

Absolutely ZERO pressure to purchase anything. Truly. But if you happen to feel like helping stock my classroom for the year, I would be incredibly grateful. Even sharing the list helps more than you know.

🐄❤️ A little personal post from The Cottage Porch Co... ❤️🐄

Most of you know me as the baker behind The Cottage Porch Co., but during the week I'm also an 8th-grade Language Arts teacher.

As I begin my 25th year in education, I'm giving my classroom a little refresh before welcoming a brand-new group of students. I don't usually share my classroom wishlist here, but I thought I'd make one exception this year with a fun little Classroom Wishlist BINGO!

Every square on the board represents something that helps create a classroom where students can learn, grow, and feel supported. From the pencils that mysteriously disappear almost every day to classroom tools that make learning more engaging, every item truly makes a difference.
I head back to school on Monday for teacher workdays, and my students arrive on August 10th. If you'd like to be part of helping me get the classroom ready, I'd be incredibly grateful if you'd consider choosing a square. There truly isn't a gift that's too small—honestly, a simple pack of pencils is one of the greatest gifts a classroom can receive!
