One of the things I love most about what I do is getting to be involved from the very beginning and watching a vision slowly come to life.
This lovely home is currently undergoing a full two-story remodel, and I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a great contracting team RQM Homes., to help design this project. These are the kinds of projects that remind me that design is so much more than choosing beautiful finishes. It’s creating a home that truly works for the people who live there.
From reimagining wall layouts to designing custom cabinetry, selecting flooring, tile, paint colors, lighting, plumbing locations, electrical placement, and even the stair railing, every single decision has been thoughtfully planned.
One of my favorite transformations has been opening up the living room by removing the built-in bookcases on each side of the fireplace to expand the windows. Now, instead of closed-in walls, the homeowners will enjoy breathtaking views overlooking Pleasant Valley Golf Course. It’s amazing how one design decision can completely change the feeling of a space.
We’ve also added a beautiful sunroom—a peaceful place where she can start each morning with a cup of coffee while taking in those gorgeous views. I can already picture it becoming one of the most-loved rooms in the house.
One thing my client asked for above all else was lots and lots of storage, and we’ve made that a priority in every inch of this home. From custom built-ins, a beautiful desk area, dry bar, and thoughtfully designed cabinetry, we’ve truly maximized every space. We even designed toe-kick drawers beneath the kitchen cabinets so that even the space most people never think about becomes functional storage. Those are the details I love—finding creative ways to make a home not only beautiful, but work harder for the family who lives there.
I always tell clients that the beauty you see in the finished home starts long before paint goes on the walls. It starts with intentional planning. Every outlet, every cabinet, every light switch, every plumbing location, every drawer, every finish, and every detail is carefully thought through before construction ever reaches the finish line.
Right now, it’s still in the sawdust stage—but I can already see the finished home in my mind. I cannot wait to share each step of this transformation with you because this one is going to be absolutely stunning.
✨ This is why I love what I do. Turning ideas into homes that are as functional as they are beautiful.
