There’s something about this stretch of spring into early summer that makes every trip to the flower market feel like Christmas morning. Orchids, scabiosa, strawflower, ranunculus, tulips, viburnum, and yes, the peonies too. The colors and textures coming through right now are simply unmatched.

Two days at Rancho Valencia bringing a longtime corporate client’s vision to life, and on the final evening, golden hour did exactly what we hoped it would. ✨ 
 
We worked closely with this client to land on the perfect mix: lush, layered arrangements of white and green stems, featured in our round and long and low natural birch containers and paired with delicate bud vases down the table.

Worth the wait, and the journey from Tuscany

Handmade terracotta, just in from , a Danish family company in its third generation, still made by hand the way it has been since 1942. Every pot shaped by the same craftsmen the family has worked with for years, each one carrying the small, quiet marks of the hands that made it.

We brought in a few different styles, each one a little different. Use them anywhere, indoors or out, entryway, garden, dining table, planted or arranged.

Can we talk about ranunculus for a second? 
 
There’s just something about those layers, and the color range this season is incredible. Soft pinks and purples, bold oranges, deep magentas, and the ones with picotee edges that look almost painted on. They’re in peak season through May, and they’ll keep opening up a little more each day once they’re in your vase. 
 
Quick care tips: trim the stems at an angle, swap out the water every couple of days, and keep them away from your fruit bowl (ethylene from ripening fruit cuts their life short).
