This is my most favorite crochet mitten pattern. I used it to make the "Roll Tide" mittens for my nieces which is shown in my photos. I made a blue pair for my dad, a red and purple pair for my grandma, and many more, all in one season because they work up so quickly! I must admit, it is very cool to see a ribbing pattern emerge before your eyes for the first time as a new crocheter!

This pattern uses half double crochet stitches and NO TURNS! It is a perfect project for a beginner as all the rows are different colors and easy to keep track of, the stitches all look the same instead of alternating, and buttons make any yarn project look fancy. This pattern even uses crochet "in the round" a few times starting in the middle of the project, which is a fun way to introduce the technique.

I will be teaching a kids Yarn Craft class in Rolla on Wednesdays this spring, February to April 2019.

I will ALSO be hanging out at the Rolla Library on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. While my son participates in a club, I will be working on yarn craft projects. I'll be available for conversation and questions. Current and prospective students are welcome to join me in the Children's Library area for a fun, social time to make progress on a project, ask for help on next steps or tips on getting started.

Send me a private message to ask about other regular times I am yarn crafting in Rolla at The Centre and Panera. Individual and small group instruction available. Borrow my supplies to practice, or bring your own. We can even plan a supplies shopping field trip!

Nov 2017 I attended Ozark Fiber Fling, a fiber arts workshop based in the Missouri Ozarks. I learned hoe to process wool from sheep to yarn, three more spinning techniques, how to ply spun yarn, and how to weave a rope sandal sole on a loom. I bought a lambs first wool and a few drop spindle tools. I am excited to spin this wool into yarn.

I now offer lessons for knitting or crocheting, any age, any skill level, in the Rolla or Salem area.

$20 per 1 hour session, for up to two people. Supplies for practice during sessions are provided, and some tools and supplies are available for purchase if you would like to keep them.

This is great for parent and child sessions, or a fun activity for a coffee date with a spouse or best friend.
