Join us this weekend at the Mile High Holiday Mart with where you’ll see our new handwoven throws from Laos. They take inspiration from a traditional wedding blanket, in which two woven panels were sewn together to create a newlywed's first blanket for their bed.

Before the use of written text, various ethnic groups in Laos recorded their stories in textiles as a way to pass down origin stories, cultural beliefs, and folk tales.

While the throws are a modern take on a traditional practice, the motifs are the same you would have seen generations ago, symbolizing peace, protection and fertility.

Swipe to the end to see a traditional wedding blanket.
