Black Rock Lighting is closed for business until the tariffs on China are reduced or lifted. We source our lights and LED controllers from China because thats the only place in the world that manufactures them. The products we use are expertly crafted exactly to our specifications and quality standards. They are simply the best LED strip lights in the world. And now they are too expensive for the average person to afford.
Black Rock Lighting was projected to be profitable this year, but now, that doesnt seem possible. We could deal with 10%, but even a 20% tariff makes our prices go higher than people are willing to pay. Our manufacturers know what they are going to pay at the border so they charge us that extra amount when we purchase goods. As of today the current tariff on Chinese goods is 145%. That means every roll of LEDs we buy went from $55 to $135. An average house takes 10-20 rolls to complete. When starting the business three years ago, we did not budget for an extra $1000 per house going to the government.
Tariffs do nothing but make America less prosperous and less competitive. Regrettably, we are closed for business until the situation changes.
