As the Medical Fitness Midwest Summit approaches, OLC Co-Founder Hervey Lavoie reflects on a facility that's come full circle - the very Mount Carmel Fitness Center in Lewis Center, Ohio, a facility that OLC was privileged to design in partnership with Davis Wince Architects (DWA) that will host this year's event June 10–11.

In his latest blog, Hervey explores how medical fitness has evolved over the past decade and what he might do differently if the facility were designed today.

A great reminder that the best facilities are designed to adapt, evolve, and serve future generations.

Last week, Brenda Amsberry, Principal and Director of Interiors at OLC, joined hospitality industry leaders at Bisnow’s Denver Hotel & Tourism Update event to discuss the trends shaping the future of hospitality and guest experiences.

The panel explored Denver’s tourism market, evolving traveler expectations, and how thoughtful design can create memorable destinations.

From competitive swim training to family fun, the Wellington Aquatics Center was designed to make waves in the community. 🌊

Designed by OLC in partnership with the Village of Wellington, this state-of-the-art aquatic facility supports everything from swim meets and lap swimming to recreation, water safety, and wellness for all ages.

The center features a competition-ready pool, recreation pool with zero-depth entry and interactive water features, Florida’s first NinjaCross obstacle course, diving boards, shaded cabanas, and aquatic programming for the community to enjoy.

Hervey Lavoie is heading to the 2026 Medical Fitness Summit – Northeast hosted by the Medical Fitness Association!

Construction is continuing to move forward at the future Washington Park Community Center in Palmetto, and we’re excited to share these progress photos from our project partners at Creative Contractors! 👏

OLC is proud to be partnered with Manatee County on this impactful community project, part of the County’s broader vision to transform the 88-acre Washington Park site into a vibrant destination for recreation, gathering, and community connection.

The future facility will be named the Lawrence C. and Clifford B. Livingston Community Center, recognizing two longtime faith leaders and community advocates whose dedication helped shape the Washington Park neighborhood and expand opportunities for generations of residents throughout Manatee County.

The community center is part of a multi-phase revitalization effort, with Phase 1 of Washington Park opening this May and the community center anticipated to open this fall.
