THE CONES ARE GONE 🚫🚧
The end of construction in our area is FINALLY here!!

After nearly 2 YEARS of detours, dust, and jackhammers, Colfax is officially open again, and we’re throwing a party to celebrate. TONIGHT.

Join us and our neighbors on East Colfax for a block party honoring everyone who stuck it out: the shops and restaurants that kept their doors open, the customers who walked around the barricades to find us, and the community that refused to let this stretch go quiet. 🖤

We are THRILLED to have our Colfax back, and would love to party with you about it! 🎉

Meet Uno. 🫙

Uno is a cyclops kitten — a natural occurrence of
cyclopia, a rare congenital condition caused by the
failure of the embryonic brain to divide into two
hemispheres. The result is a single, central eye
socket and fused facial features.

Cyclopia occurs across many species including cats,
horses, sheep, and rarely, humans. It is almost
always fatal within hours of birth — which is why
intact specimens like Uno are extraordinarily rare
and scientifically significant.

Uno is preserved as a wet specimen — a centuries-old
preservation technique where the specimen is fixed in
formalin then stored in a sealed jar of alcohol
solution. Wet specimens have been used by naturalists,
scientists, and medical schools since the 1600s to
study anatomy and rare conditions that would otherwise
be lost to time.

Uno wasn’t a science experiment. He was simply born
different. Now he lives here with us, cared for and
displayed with the dignity and curiosity he deserves.

He has questions to answer. Drop yours below. 👇

Who’s ready to celebrate the end of construction on Colfax?! Join us for a free evening of clowns, music, food and sideshow nonsense!

Be on the lookout for Bus-Only Lane Operations (BOLO)! Colfax reopens on Sept. 27 from Broadway to Colorado Blvd.

Come celebrate with the East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) team on Monday, Sept. 28! In place of a ribbon-cutting ceremony, we'll cut cake at the Carla Madison Rec Center rooftop, then we'll have a carnival with performances, face painting, balloon artists, games, and snacks from local businesses at the The Learned Lemur. Then, pick up your Fax Pass and join a small business hop!
