OM is in HOME! What is HOME? Or diving a little deeper, what is OM?
🙏🏼✨🏡
Maybe a preconceived response comes to mind for one, or both of these words. A definition that is the correct response or maybe a more obvious explanation.

If I had to choose two words that describe what I’ve dedicated my life to the past several years, these words would be it. These words have been my work.
✨✨✨
I’ve always had an obsession with the design of the home. How a space looks and how it feels when you’re in it. How we function in a space and how it contributes to the way we live our lives. The obsession became my profession.

I’ve been an interior designer for over 10 years and I truly love helping people fall in love with the spaces they live in. It’s been a journey and I’ve learned so much about the differences in opinions of what truly makes a ‘home’. Like art, it’s subjective.

It was around the same time I started college to become an interior designer, that I also fell in love with yoga. Throughout the years my yoga practice has been fluid. It wasn’t until about 7 years ago that I became completely obsessed. Adopting a lifestyle based on the yogic traditions of mind, body and spirit has become my foundation with how I live my life. The word ‘OM’, most simply put, is a single word that represents the union of mind, body and spirit that is at the heart of yoga. My metaphysical hOMe! Naturally, my obsession became my (second) profession.

For the past 6 years, I’ve been tandemly practicing interior design and teaching yoga. And through my journey, it has become apparent that the hOMe is where my passions truly lie. Whether it be the physical home you live in or the mental space where mind & breath meet the body. The hOMe is where we all seek peace. Where we look to build a sense of joy, happiness, beauty and simplicity. The definitions of these words are yours to build into your own. Maybe the definitions are separate but I hope that they can be seen as one of the same.

THROWBACKS! Aren’t they the best?

Only when we can look back with a positive perspective, right? Today I needed to look back and remind myself of where I came from. Remind myself that even though right now I might not be where I thought I’d be, I’ve still come a long way.

In 2009, I started my design business with a big dream. Things have shifted. I’ve moved to new cities. Things in life change. Things in business change. Dreams change. IT ALL CHANGES! And through the changes, I feel grateful to be able to say that I’m proud of this little bizz that I’ve built, even if it’s not where I thought it would be.

No matter what happens, I know I’m capable of shifting through change and I will be able to look back with a positive perspective.

Because I am directing my focus on a couple other things at the moment, I am putting a TEMPORARY HOLD on Wine and Designs on Thursday evenings.
