Denver darklings, we signed the lease. 🕯️📚

Broom Book & Candle is becoming a brick-and-mortar horror and dark literature bookstore, coffee shop, beer and wine bar, and gathering place for readers and creators.

What began as Virginia Scarre pandemic-era horror book club, affectionately known as the “coven,” grew into an online bookstore and The Scare Package subscription box. Now Amanda and KJ Brantley | Horror Author have joined forces to create a permanent home for Denver’s horror community.

Together, we bring years of experience in writing, marketing, literary programming, immersive events, and community building through projects including Creepaway Camp, the SoCo Women in Horror Fest, the Uncanny Women Podcast, and the Women in Horror Arts and Media Association.

Expect carefully curated books, coffee, drinks, author appearances, workshops, book clubs, themed experiences, and plenty of reasons to stay awhile.

We plan to open this fall. More dark tidings, including our location, opening celebration, and first events, are coming soon.
