In architectural design, one needs to focus on the experience of a space that does not yet exist. Nature, light, and accessibility can provide a positive experience in even the most mundane of places…. Like a DMV parking lot! As a part of a proposal, OS designed a multi-functional carport that provides a much needed covered waiting area with urban furniture and landscaping, as well as a BIPV array and rainwater collection to support Net-Zero Energy design goals

Todays inspiration comes from the tower of the Leigh-on-Mendip cathedral in Somerset, England. The church’s composition is infused with a classical sense of balance, harmony, and completeness; characteristics that all architecture, regardless of typology or style, should seek to embody.
