1960s United Furniture credenza, start to finish.

Filmed on the glasses so you see it the way we do. Mostly sanding on this one, all of it with Serious Grit discs, then four coats of sealer, glaze to pull the grain back out, and sprayed lacquer the same way the factory finished it.

Starbond Premium Superglues sent us their epoxy putty wood filler to try, and it earned its spot. Where the veneer was missing it filled clean, hardened without shrinking back, and sanded flush. The color matches the walnut close enough that you won’t find the repair once the finish is on.

The top and bottom edges are solid wood, not veneer, so they come out a different color than the face. Both had to be taped off and built up separately to bring them in line.

As always, finished in a durable satin lacquer from Mohawk Finishing Products.

This 1960s Kent Coffey “The Sequence” lowboy dresser just got a full transformation and is officially on its way to Huger, South Carolina.

This one started off in a blonde finish, and bringing it into a deeper walnut tone completely changed the presence. The sculpted base, brass accents, and those signature geometric pulls really come to life with the added contrast. It’s one of those designs that already had the bones—but the right finish takes it to another level.
