Second edit: I appreciate all your comments but don’t allow nastiness on my page. Most of you have been quite wonderful, even those who disagreed with me. But all I did was ask a question about the bowl. I didn’t ask for rude commentary on whether I was right or wrong when I told the lady what I sold my bowl for and her hostility after.
I have learned that the high prices online were for several reasons, one being money laundering. I have experienced people with different opinions than mine showing courtesy and respect.
But then there are the obnoxious ones. Not because they say I was wrong, but because of how they say it and assumptions they make about me.
That being said, I made a move to disable comments. I appreciate all who weighed in, even the hurtful people. But I’m really tired of my phone dinging and tired of mean people. Y’all don’t know me. You don’t know my experience in this area. You weren’t there when it happened.
Thank you all for your comments. Let’s all learn to be good to each other. It will be a better world.
Also, you didn’t hurt my feelings or make me mad. I’m just tired of the disrespect, for me and others.

Edited to add: For the people who are making judgments on my character and calling me rude and for the trolls calling me names, I just want you to know you aren’t bothering me. I worked at the Office of Motor Vehicles for 24 years. There’s not an insult I haven’t heard before 🤣. I will decide what I post and who I speak to as well as what I say. I may not always be right, but I never intentionally hurt or offend other people. I don’t wait for you to respect me for me to respect you.

One thing that will never do in my booths is be rude to people. I just left a shop where they had a Corningware dish for $400. I told her I just sold the same one for $28 bucks and she got hostile. She told me it was extremely rare (they are literally everywhere), a first edition, and I should do my research. Which I have done and did again. I definitely undersold mine by a few dollars, but in no universe would I pay $400 for that.
But the deal is this. When she got rude and loud with me, I laid down what I would have purchased and said, “I don’t want to shop here.”
She got even ruder after that. All she had to do was make her case. Show me where I’m incorrect, if I am. I was actually commenting on it because I sold mine so cheap, thinking I could’ve made more (but not that much).
Common courtesy. I will never set foot in that place again and I went there innocently to purchase. She put on a superiority complex and lost my business. Maybe that means nothing to her.
It means something to me. My customers are important and deserve respect.
I’m not going to out her on social media by saying the name of the business. She could’ve been right about the bowl (which I seriously doubt but don’t know everything). What she wasn’t right about was showing no respect and downright rudeness.
I hope her business succeeds but I know I’m not going back.
Y’all tell me if this bowl is worth $400 to you.
