While I watched this person look through my tote bags I was thinking to myself “this is why I love doing this”. Getting to see the pure joy, connection, and appreciation strangers have with my art is one of the most incredible experiences as an artist.

When I make a new piece I make it from the heart. I never know if others will like it or connect with it. So when people do, it is beyond rewarding, it makes me feel like my art has a purpose, like I did something that brought someone joy, made them feel seen, or simply helped them experience something to the world that they also care about!

If you are an artist and have thought about doing markets, let this be your sign to go for it! It’s truly one of the most wonderful experiences connecting with people over your art and shared values!
