Laying To Rest...
2 Timothy 4:7-8
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
Yesterday was one of the most difficult days of my life. I had to say my final goodbyes to my dad. Loosing a loved one is a pain like no other, but loosing a parent is a whole other level of hurt. I wasn't there when he took his last breath, I didn't get that last moment with him, to show him how much I loved him. I pray he knows...
I am not sharing this for sympathy, simply sharing his memory, his life, and the message that life is but a v***r, a breath, flicker of light, it is delicate, it is too short, and if there is anything you need to say to the ones you love, it needs to be said while they are here. Today it's Halloween one of my favorite days but I am not celebrating it this year. I am celebrating my father today: I am celebrating his memory, his spirit, his life.
I created this memorial piece in dedication to his passion for building amazing things. His cannons were truly spectacular, he made many of them, each one unique, each one shot like a rocket, and each one he was immensely proud of. He gave me this one, so it naturally seemed fitting to combine my love with his love. My love for flowers and his love for building unique things. Glass shards from his days of working at Flatriver Glass Comp. are added touches in this piece, representing his incredible work ethic; something he definitely passed on to me and my two brothers.
In our picture below, we are smiling, sharing a happy moment on such a difficult day. It is ok to smile it is what dad would have wanted. He wanted us to stay close and now that is my life's mission, to stay connected, to stay close, to keep our bonds strong. This is how we can honor his memory.Frosted Memories By Mandy
